The US Department of Energy was placed in charge of containing and removing 1500 cubic yards of contaminated soil. Initial testing of the soil revealed TPH (Total Petroleum Hydrocarbons) levels near 19,000 ppm.
Shortly after testing, Spillaway+, a bioremedial absorbent, was tilled into the affected soil. Soil TPH levels were tested again one week later. Hydrocarbon content had dropped significantly to only 573 ppm–a reduction of approximately 97%! Spillaway+ had almost completely reversed the contamination of the land, and it only took one week.
